Q: How often is the directory produced?
A: Every other year.
Q: What are the prices and benefits of the directory?
A: Basic information about the directory can be found online at add link, or in our brochure. Brochures (add link) are available on the Web site, or by calling the Alliance office (317-630-5200).
Q: Why is Kentucky data no longer included in the directory?
A: A non-profit organization from Kentucky, the Center for Nonprofit Excellence (CNPE), approached the Alliance two years ago with an interest in producing their own directory of Kentucky grantmakers and we encouraged them to embark on the project, as local organizations know their community best. The Kentucky Foundation Databooks are now available for purchase. For more information contact CNPE by phone at 502-315-2673 or visit their Web site at www.cnpe.org.
Q: Why do I only see a “package” option on the order form?
A: In order to have the best most up-to-date tools for seeking grants in Indiana, we suggest that you use all three options (printed book, searchable CD-ROM and Online version). Using these products as a set gives you greater flexibility when you need to find foundation data. You can browse through or make hand-written notes in the print directory or perform quick searches by issue or type of grant using the CD-ROM. Searching the Online version will provide the most up-to-date version of each entry. Please note that CD-ROM and printed versions are sold as a set. 2004 was the first year that the Alliance offered the Online Directory as a subscription service.
Q: How do I know if I get the member rate?
A: One of the benefits of membership to the Indiana Grantmakers Alliance is a discount on the Directory of Grantmakers. If your organization is a member of the Alliance you are eligible to receive the discount rate.
Q: Can I place an order over the phone?
A: We can mail or fax brochures, or the brochure can be accessed on the Web site. The order form must be mailed or faxed in with payment information. We cannot accept orders over the phone.
Q: What are the payment options?
A: We accept VISA, MasterCard, AMEX, checks, and purchase orders.
Q: What is the difference between the print, CD-ROM, and the online Directory?
A: Upon initial publication, the data in the print, CD-ROM, and online directory will be almost identical. As changes in foundation data occur, the data in the online directory will become more updated than the data in the print and CD-ROM versions.
Q: Can I perform a search in the online directory?
A: If you purchase an online subscription to the directory, you can perform a search online.
Q: How do I update my directory record?
A: Contact Marilee Steckler (msteckler@indianagrantmakers.org) with your new information.
Q: Where do you get the information for the directory?
A: We obtain most of the data through publicly available sources. We then confirm this data through a proof process during which foundations have the opportunity to review and correct the data that will be printed in the directory.
Q: Where can I find the Directory if I do not wish to purchase it at this time?
A: The Directory is available at many public libraries. Please contact your local library for availability. You may also choose to visit one of Indiana’s Foundation Cooperating Center’s.
Q: What is the shipping price and how is shipping handled?
A: Shipping and handling are included in the purchase price. All shipments are by UPS.
Q: May I return the Directory?
A: No. We are unable to accept returns since the Directory is a reference resource.
Q: I would like to purchase numerous copies of the Directory. Is there a discount?
Please contact Marilee Steckler for bulk pricing information (msteckler@indianagrantmakers.org).
Q: I need additional assistance writing grant proposals. Where can I turn?
A: keep?
