The Community Foundation Committee is an advisory committee
to GIFT and Indiana Grantmakers
Alliance, and exists to promote, strengthen, and advance the
work of Indiana community foundations. It has two guiding
principles:
- Cultivate and communicate ideas and promote collaboration
and cooperation among community foundations and between
community foundations and other philanthropic institutions,
and
- recognize and respond to the diverse nature of community
foundations and respect these differences within the context
of the Ethical and Operational Standards of Indiana Community
Foundations.
The committee helps set policy for the Indiana community foundations,
makes several resources available
to the foundations, and helps facilitate statewide conversations
about issues relevant to community foundations.
The committee is made up of 14 regionally elected representatives
and 3 officers who serve at-large. The state is divided into
seven regions, and the executive directors in each region
meet 3 to 4 times each year. Each region elects two representatives
to the committee. A chair, vice chair, and past chair round
out the committee. which meets quarterly. Click here
for a map of the state showing the regions and regional representatives.
Since 2007, the Committee has made a summary of each meeting
available to the field. Click here

Foundation members only).
