The Indiana Grantmakers Alliance is a professional association for foundation executives, staff, and board members. We educate, advocate, and bring people together around philanthropy. We are the resource for information about grantmaking in the state.

The Alliance serves as a forum through which Indiana's private foundations, community foundations, other public foundation, corporate foundations and corporate giving programs can exchange information and ideas for promoting effective, efficient, ethical and legal grantmaking. Through the Alliance, grantmakers exchange information with their colleagues regarding the management of their philanthropic or grantmaking programs. Alliance members represent a collective voice for philanthropy in the state, raising public awareness and appreciation for the role of philanthropy in improving the quality of life for all Hoosiers.

Membership is exclusive to grantmakers, i.e., public and private foundations and corporate giving programs. Other public and operating foundations may join, as long as 50% of their expenditures are for grants to others, rather than for support of programs operated by the foundation. Membership support is based on the amount of grants paid by your organization in the latest reporting year. Minimum dues are $300, and the maximum is $12,500. See the dues categories for additional information. Foundations and corporations headquartered outside of Indiana pay dues based on grants made in Indiana.

If your organization does not meet the criteria for general membership, Associate memberships are available.

Members of other Regional Associations of Grantmakers are able to attend Alliance events as guest members, even if they do not make grants in Indiana. Contact the Alliance for additional information.

Note:
The Indiana Grantmakers Alliance is supported through membership fees, conference fees, directory sales, operating grants, and grants for special projects and program initiatives.
