Mark is an Indianapolis native, a 1970 graduate of North Central
High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from
the University of Evansville in 1974 and spent 25 years in
radio and television broadcasting in Evansville.
In 1997, Mark left broadcasting (and its’ crazy habits
of working all holidays and weekends) to take a position as
the Alternative Fuels Specialist for the Vectren Company which
was then known as Southern Indiana Gas & Electric Company
(or SIGECO). That same year, Mark was elected President of
the Indiana Natural Gas Vehicle Coalition and Coordinator
of the Evansville Clean Cities Alliance. He now works for
Vectren Corporation as Manager of Community Affairs and oversees
the Vectren Foundation.
Mark and his wife (the former Brenda Middleton) have two
children, Mathisen and Ashley. Mark is Chairman of the Board
of Trustees of the Newburgh Presbyterian Church, an accomplished
lay speaker, and sings with the Gospel Quartet The Beacons.
An Eagle Scout (and former member of the Central Indiana Council
Boy Scout Band), he is an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop
305 and is the Activities Chairman for the Native Trails District
and Training Coordinator for the Buffalo Trace Council, BSA.
A member of the Rotary Club of Downtown Evansville, Mark is
also a member of the Board of Directors of the Indiana Grantmakers
Alliance, Leadership Evansville, the Vanderburgh Community
Foundation, and Our Greater Community.
