Executive Director, The Clowes Fund, Inc.
320 N. Meridian St., Suite 316
Indianapolis, IN 46204
Beth Casselman serves as executive director of The Clowes
Fund. She was hired in 2000 as the first professional staff
of this family foundation which was established in Indianapolis
in 1952. With Beth’s guidance The Clowes Fund has established
a more open and focused grant making process consistent with
the stewardship principles for family foundations as recommended
by the Council on Foundations.
Previous experience includes leading the Kappa Alpha Theta
Foundation through a period of transition, refocusing on its
primary mission to support academic excellence. Beth was the
founding executive director of the Community Foundation of
Boone County developing its board, policies and assets from
infancy to critical mass, or in dollar figures from zero to
$5 million. Philanthropy as a career provides a great marriage
of Beth’s previous professional experience in marketing
and public relations with her volunteer service to non-profits,
blending a desire for her professional life to reflect a continuum
toward her spiritual goals.
In addition to the Indiana Grantmakers Alliance she currently
serves on the United Way of Central Indiana board, its Community
Issues Committee and chairing its Boone County Advisory Board;
and editorial board for the Council on Foundations publication
Family Matters. Other non-profit affiliations have included
the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service series,
Boone County Leadership, and Witham Memorial Hospital Foundation
board. Beth has been honored as Boone County Businesswoman
of the Year, Kappa Alpha Theta High Flyer and with an ADDI
marketing campaign.
A lifelong Hoosier currently residing in Zionsville, Beth
received a Bachelor of Science from Butler University as journalism
major. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Bob,
and they are the parents of two wonderful teenage sons.
